                      Ford Horn Ring
Here is a horn ring that we think is for a 1956 Ford car. It has some pitting but don't look too bad. Some people would put this on a driver. If you are out side the car looking in I don't think you would notice much of the pitting. The center plastic piece looks fair but the color parts have faded some. Check part numbers and look close at photos because we are not 100% sure this is for a 1956 Ford. We had another one that looked just like this that had numbers FDR- 3624-B. The part number on the back of this one is 24411.Feel free to email questions or comments.

Enzo Ferrari died 25 years ago today

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

The word “Ferrari” is evocative enough as it is, but add “Enzo-era” to the mix and we imagine a very specific type of machine -- a vehicle that is raw, passionate, perhaps a bit prickly, but above all, utterly unique and irreplaceable. There's a reason Enzo-era Ferraris are magical: Enzo Ferrari himself. Born in 1898, Ferrari joined the Alfa Romeo racing team in 1920, established Scuderia Ferrari in 1929 and put his name on a V12-powered race car in 1947.

Toyota: Fixes are working on recalled vehicles

Tue, 09 Mar 2010

Toyota maintains that the fixes being made to correct unintended acceleration in millions of recalled vehicles are sufficient. But at a press event Monday, company officials said they are willing to bring in as many independent researchers as needed to resolve the issue once and for all. “We don't think there is a ghost issue out there,” said Kristen Tabar, general manager of electronic systems at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Rockin' Supercar: The Rebirth, Short Life, and Death of a Shark-Fin-Equipped '85 Toyota Tercel Wagon

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

Sometimes a very ordinary car becomes something special, maybe even loved, but that's not always enough to keep it out of the jaws of the crusher. This is the story of a second-gen Toyota Tercel wagon (known in Japan as the Sprinter Carib) and its journey from auction to lumber-hauler to kid transportation to a Chinese steel factory. Around the turn of the century, while I was working at a doomed dot-com in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, I discovered that the city auctioned off all the unclaimed tow-away cars every week at nearby Pier 70.
