Toyota Auris Hybrid Review and Road Test (2011) Part 2
Fri, 18 Feb 2011Toyota Auris Hybrid Review & Road test Part 2 No one buys a Toyota Auris and expects to go blatting round the back roads, eking every last drop of grip and handling out of the chassis. They buy it because it does everything without fuss, competently, quietly – and forever. Hot Wheels and Icon in sandbox battle
Wed, 06 Jun 2012As first reported by Jeff Glucker of Hooniverse, the toymaker Mattel has been accused of infringing on a trademark held by the low-volume vehicle builder Icon 4X4. Icon claims that a Hot Wheels toy being distributed worldwide is based on its Icon FJ40—which itself is based on the Toyota FJ40—and that Hot Wheels' use of Icon's design, promotional materials and the name “FJ40” violates trademarks held by Icon. In its response to Tuesday's Hooniverse post, Hot Wheels claimed that the toy is not based on the Icon FJ40, and that it has the right to use the term “FJ40” despite Icon's trademark.
Higher gas prices? Blame ethanol
Fri, 04 Apr 2014MarketWatch reported today that the price of ethanol has seen a 30-percent price increase so far this year, taking the price of gasoline up with it, since a good majority of "gasoline" sold today is around 10 percent ethanol. The average price of a gallon of gas today is $2.30, according to FactSet data, but this has varied since the beginning of 2014. Despite the recent surge, ethanol prices have also proved to be rather volatile with reports of it dropping 8 percent this past Thursday after falling 10 percent just the day before.
