Jaguar XJ facelift (2007) first news and photos
Wed, 28 Feb 2007By Jack Carfrae First Official Pictures 28 February 2007 11:29 2008 Jaguar XJ: the lowdown Jaguar is sprucing up its XJ luxury saloon at Geneva next week to keep it fresh until a radical new model arrives in 2009 – and these pictures show the big cat for the first time. There are numerous subtle changes to Jaguar’s flagship saloon, most of which are well within the ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ category, but they add a little more polish to the big saloon, which has always suffered criticism for its conservative design. Most of the changes involve the bumpers, which have been given a more distinguished, deep and chunky look, and a more prominent growler on the revised grille.
Porsche Panamera S E-hybrid scores £5k government grant
Wed, 27 Nov 2013By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 27 November 2013 12:30 You’d have thought the last thing a buyer wealthy enough to afford an £89k Porsche Panamera needed was a £5000 discount on their mammoth new supersaloon. But, thanks the Panamera S E-hybrid cracking the eco numbers, that’s exactly what the UK government is offering. The Panamera S E-hybrid has joined a list of just 15 cars eligible for Britian’s ‘ULEV’ (ultra low-emission vehicle) status, approved by OLEV (the Office for low-emission vehicles.) Yes, in real life, it’s ridiculous, but on paper, the S E-hybrid is a wunderkid of low-emission motoring.
Sky takes Mazda powertrains to the next level
Mon, 30 Aug 2010Mazda's next-generation of powertrains, called Sky, will feature a variety of new technologies that company engineers say improve fuel efficiency by 20 percent. The Sky engines--Sky-G for the gasoline version, Sky-D for diesel--coupled with a Sky-Drive automatic transmission or a six-speed manual, were offered for test drives during a technology day in Berlin. The Sky-G engine we drove was a 2.0-liter inline-four that made 160 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque.
