Renault axes Fluence Z.E. electric saloon

Renault has ceased production of its all-electric Fluence Z.E. saloon car at its European factory in Turkey due to poor sales. Figures from industry body the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that only 75 Fluence Z.E.s were sold in the UK since the car went on the market in 2011.

Aston V12 Zagato confirmed for production in 2012

Aston Martin has confirmed production of the V12 Zagato – yours for £330,000, plus local taxes. It will build just 150 examples will be hand-built at Gaydon, with first deliveries expected in summer 2012. An aluminium and carbonfibre body is designed to echo the 1960 DB4 GT Zagato.

Mini names BMW's Warming to succeed Hildebrand as design chief

Mini has named Anders Warming to succeed Gert Hildebrand as head of design by the end of the month. Hildebrand will leave the BMW AG subsidiary on Dec. 31, ending a 10-year run that saw him create a new look and feel for the Mini brand following its relaunch under BMW, the company said in a statement without providing details on the designer's future plans.
