European Grand Prix (2011) RESULT
Sun, 26 Jun 2011European Grand Prix 2011 - Vettel back on pole It’s probably as big a shift in weather and conditions as we’ve had this F1 season, from the deluge of the island track in Canada to the searing heat of a Valencian Summer for the 2011 European Grand Prix, but was that enough to see Vettel recover from the defeat he suffered in Canada at the hands of a quite simply brilliant Jenson Button? Well, yes, it was. Just as he was in 2010, Vettel was on pole in Valencia and back on unrelenting form, leading as if by right from beginning to end; controlling the gap to the cars behind as if by divine intervention.
Jaguar Top Ten all time cars celebrates Jaguar XE launch
Sun, 07 Sep 2014Messrs Callum, Johnson & March chose the Top Ten Jaguars Tomorrow – 8 September 2014 – sees the launch of the car that could make Jaguar a real force in the ‘Premium’ market – the new Jaguar XE. We’ve had lots of teases and detail of the new XE in the last few months, and now Jaguar are stating the heritage of the XE by publishing a list of the ten most important cars in their history, as compiled by a trio of Jaguar loving petrolheads – Ian Callum (Jaguar Designer), Brian Johnson (AC/DC main man) and Lord Charles March (he of Goodwood). The list kicks off with a 1930s Jaguar – the Jaguar SS100 – and goes on to include the Mark 2, C-Type, D-Type, E-Type, the original XJ6 and the Le Mans winning Tom Walkinshaw XJR-9.
1984 Ford Mustang SVO: American metal, European performance
Mon, 14 Apr 2014If the 1978 Ford Mustang King Cobra II isn't quite your thing, why not give the 1984 Ford Mustang SVO a try? In the Jan. 3, 1983, issue of Autoweek, we previewed a different take on the pony car -- one that promised "visual subtlety with unsubtle performance." Built on the Fox platform, the Mustang SVO (for "Special Vehicle Operations") wasn't supposed to be a flashy package for the wannabe racer -- it was designed from the ground up to be a balanced road car, "a state-of-the-art performance vehicle for the absolutely no-compromises performance buyer." And when we say "ground up," we mean it.
