Toyota EV concept confirmed for Detroit 2009 By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 23 December 2008 16:48 Toyota has (succinctly) announced that it will unveil a new battery-electric concept car at the Detroit motor show in January 2009. And that’s it – alongside a solitary teaser photo that’s all we’re getting out of the Japanese automotive giant for now. But a source inside Toyota GB confirmed to CAR that this concept is not the new Prius, and that the production version of the infamous petrol-electric hybrid will debut alongside this EV concept.

Jaguar Land Rover to spend additional £250 million a year with UK suppliers

Fri, 11 May 2012

JLR to spend and extra £1 billion with UK suppliers The Range Rover Evoque phenomenon continues with Jaguar Land Rover announcing an extra £250 million additional annual spend with UK suppliers. Just last week we had the news that Land Rover’s Freelander 2 had hit sales of 300,000 since its launch in 2007, but if the Range Rover Evoque continues selling the way it has that figure will be eclipsed in half the time by the Evoque. And it’s sales of the Evoque – Land Rover has sold 60,000 Evoques in the first seven months on sale – that’s driving the need to spend more with suppliers and the announcement today that UK suppliers can look forward to an extra £250 million a year being spent to support the Evoque’s production at Halewood.

SsangYong XIV-2 concept

Mon, 13 Feb 2012

The SsangYong XIV-2 concept – the second of its ‘eXciting user Interface Vehicles' [sic] – will make its debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show. The two-door, open-top crossover is an evolution of the I.DE.A designed XIV-1, shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Visually, the XIV-2 is a departure from both the previous Ssangyong KEV2 and XIV-1 concepts, with an all-new DRG featuring a simpler, more upright fascia and cleaner pulled-back headlamps – suggestive of a more production-ready front fascia.
