Terms and Conditions of Sale

ITEM CONDITION :

·         All item descriptions are available in each auction under the sections APPLICATION, MOUNTING AREA and APPEARANCE.  Item condition is rated according to the Rating System I use in all my auctions and the description of each rating is available in every auction.  This has proven to be a very fair rating system as 99% of my customers have agreed with my ratings or told me I underrated the item they received which they felt was of better quality.  I would never sell a part that I wouldn’t use on one of my own cars.

·         I make every effort to clean most of the years of dust, dirt and grease off the parts but some parts will have dirt very hard to remove without full disassembly and / or restoration.

·         All items are sold in AS IS condition.  There are no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied because most items are 40+ years old and are in used condition unless otherwise stated. Their future longevity can not be calculated.  All sales are final. All my parts have been marked before shipping so I can easily identify my stock from customer’s items to cut down on buyers that attempt to “swap” their junk for my usable parts.

·         Pictures on auctions that have multiple quantities available are a representation of the general condition that each of the items is in, not the exact item you will receive.

·         Please do not buy an item and request that I send the “best one” I have out of a quantity available.  If any were in better condition, they would have a higher rating and be listed at a higher cost.  Do not expect to pay Daily Driver rated prices and get Show Quality rated parts.

PAYMENTS :

·         All payments are to be made via Paypal ONLY unless the item is being picked up locally in which case the payment is to be made in Cash ONLY. NOTE : Arrangements for a local pick up must be made BEFORE bidding on the item.

·         All payments must be made within 5 days of the end of the auction.  If you are waiting for a live auction to end to combine shipping with a Buy it Now purchase, you must notify me that are you waiting on a live auction otherwise an Unpaid Item Reminder will be sent after the 5^th day.

·         If payment is not made even after the Unpaid Item Reminder time, the item will be relisted and your user ID will be added to the Blocked Bidders list and you will be barred from future purchase attempts.

·         New York State residents are subject to 8.75% sales tax.

·         All bids are binding contacts and should be treated as such.

SHIPPING :

·         There is a 10 Business Day handling time on all purchases and packages are shipped on Saturdays ONLY.  This is my only shipping day as I have a full time job. eBay will send you an email stating your package has been shipped when I print the postage label but this DOES NOT mean the package has actually been shipped! It just means that postage has been printed and that your order is being packed and prepared to be shipped on Saturday.  Your package should arrive before the date eBay estimated.  If for some reason you have not received your package by that time, contact me immediately so I can find out if there was a shipping issue.

·         Please request and wait for an invoice BEFORE paying for your order IF you have made multiple purchases so I can send you a combined invoice with combined shipping.  If you don’t wait for the combined invoice and pay for multiple purchases individually, they will be shipped individually with no combined shipping savings. If you are only purchasing a single item, the correct shipping cost is already provided in the auction and you may complete the purchase without requesting an invoice UNLESS you need insurance for the item, in which case you would request an invoice and note you want insurance added. Insurance price is based on the value of the total item value.

·         Please make sure your shipping address listed with Paypal is correct and up to date!  This will avoid your package being shipped to an address you haven’t been living/working at for months.  It is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure the shipping address is accurate.  Packages shipped to an old address and lost are the sole responsibility of the buyer and no reparations will be made.

·         Shipping and Handling costs cover all functions involved in getting your items sent to you, not just the postage cost.  This includes things like packing materials (tape, labels, boxes, printer ink).  As far as the postage costs, UPS and the US Postal Service set the rates so I can’t help it if certain items are unusually expensive to ship, EXAMPLE :  a 2 oz. package costs the same as a 1 lb. package via Priority Mail.

·         All packages are shipped via USPS Priority Mail or UPS only as I am required to have tracking confirmation on all packages for Paypal / eBay.

·         INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ONLY :  There is no longer a Surface/Ground shipping option available by the USPS so all packages are shipped by Priority Mail only.  I will NOT alter customs declarations to reflect lower item prices as the package can only be insured for the price on the customs forms.  Delivery times for international packages average 7-21 days from the date the package is shipped.  Packages rarely take longer than 3 weeks from the date shipped but can take longer if the package is held up by airport screening / customs offices on either side and this is out of my control so please be patient.

Feedback :

·         Once you receive your items, please inspect them thoroughly.  If there any problems, please first review my Terms and Conditions and the Rating each part was given which may answer your questions or concerns.  If not, please contact me immediately BEFORE leaving feedback so I can help resolve any problems and you can leave a 5 star feedback in all categories.  The higher my star rating gets, the more discounts I get and the lower I can price my items so you can save on future purchases.

Used Parts Rating System

My used parts rating system has 4 categories which covers most every type of condition the parts I sell would be in.  This is to help my customers understand what to expect out of the parts they receive as there are so many different types aging and wear the parts could have after 40+ years.  Parts are rated as SQ, CNLS, DD, BTN.  If a part is rated with a hyphenated rating (ie DD-CNLS), it implies the part ranks in between those two main ratings.  The part is in slightly better condition than the first rating but yet slightly worse than the second.

·        Show Quality (SQ):   A part that is brand new or excellent New Old Stock.  New Old Stock does NOT imply perfect as factory parts were mass produced and rarely perfect when they were new.  It just means a replacement part from the factory never installed.  May exhibit very light storage wear. Would work for a show car all the way to daily driver.

·        Cruise Night / Light Show (CNLS):  A part in excellent used condition with very little wear or aging.  Such parts may exhibit very light pitting, scratches and handling wear consistent with a well kept, used part.

·        Daily Driver (DD):  A part that is in good used condition showing signs of average wear and age such as medium pitting, scratches, chips, minor cracks etc.  Could improve with some restoration or is an excellent core. Looks nice from 5-10 feet on a daily driven car.

·         Better Than Nothing (BTN):  A part that is just as the rating sounds.  The part has heavy aging and wear which would include heavy pitting, large cracks, deep scratches, minorly broken pieces etc. BUT is mostly complete, not broken severely and serviceable. Can be used on your daily driver only if you have a completely broken piece, are missing the part entirely or are looking for a core to rebuild / restore.

The Cove has grown rich with the parts plundered off many fine Cadillacs that were abandoned to time and tide.  Saved from certain doom by the valiant Captain Cadillac and his trusty comrade Captain VonSneer, they have been cleaned and stored till they are once again needed by you, my loyal land yacht captains! The ole Captain has been busy sorting through all the tender treasures and here’s what he found in the Cove for you to bid upon today…..

Application :  1971-76 Cadillac Eldorado, Chevrolet Impala & Caprice, Oldsmobile Delta 88, Pontiac Catalina & Grandville, Buick Centurion

Mounting Area :  Rear Top Well Area

Appearance :  These gear sets are in great condition.  They have been disassembled, cleaned, relubricated, checked for wear and reassembled. The nylon gears had no wear.  Cable threads are clean and not worn, frame arms arn't bent, move smoothly and the casings have nice black paint with minimal wear.

Rating :  DD-CNLS
