original ford part in storage since 1973. removed from 71 LTD
Brand:FOMOCO Surface Finish:rubber shrink surround, brass, plastic Placement on Vehicle:Left, Front

Original Ford part removed from 71 LTD.   Fits many Ford Mercury Lincoln cars. The application is up to you!  This was the very early design of the  switch cluster Ford used 1971 thru 80's with the rubber water protective boot which was shrunk fit to terminal area to help with moisture control. Not sure how long this "boot" was in production, but most later switches dont have the rubber. The ones I have seen are usually deteriorated or missing completely.  This one is quite nice due to its lengthy time spent in climate controlled storage.  rubber is pliable with no cracks.  Its not NOS so, the chrome switch surface may have a mark or two. There is so sign of corrosion (just tarnished brass). . It is a NICE original, high quality  ford part, with the window lockout switch.  Look carefully at photos and by all means, ask any questions before you bid. There were several variations in this design execution, and you will need to check its compatibility with your application,( unless you are using it in a 1971, 72 LTD or mercury)! If the switch visually matches the one you have, it will probably work fine.  Check to make sure                    I also have a matching 6-way power seat switch,  which is presently listed in another auction.

Ford Escape, Fusion get software fix

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

Ford says it has developed a fix for the potential engine fire problem that prompted it to recall nearly 90,000 copies of the new Escape and Fusion with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine. Ford traced the problem to a glitch in the engine software that could lead to an engine fire in the event of pressure dropped in the cooling system. So dealers will update the software on the recalled vehicles.
