78-81 Camaro Drop Spindle With Corvette Brake Adaptor, Mcgaughys Drop Spindles on 2040-parts.com
Leonardtown, Maryland, United States
I have front drop spindles for a 78-81 Camaro with adaptor brackets to mount C5/C6 Corvette brake calipers. The drop Spindles are from McGaughys and I think the part number is 7081. It must be an old part number because it seems to be different nos. I have had them for a few years and was trying them on my project vehicle but didn't work. I have removed/cut-off the original caliper mounting ears to make room for the adaptor brackets. The spindles new are around $250-$350depending on where you shop and the brackets I bought off Ebay for $90. The adaptor brackets are 1/2" thick aluminum and have grade 8 bolts. Nice looking brackets. Please email me if you want to see a picture. Thanks for looking! |

Revealed: the popular city cars that FAIL a new crash test
Thu, 23 Jan 2014It’s fair to say that drivers are pretty well protected in just about any new car on the market today. It’s rare for cars to get anything below the maximum five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests, and even the most basic of cars come with equipment like ABS and airbags as standard. But America’s Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has devised a new test, which involves a “small overlap front crash” – similar to a head-on crash but only the front corner of a car collides with a solid object.
Geely to buy bankrupt London Taxis
Mon, 31 Dec 2012The Chinese press are reporting that Geely are to buy London Taxi maker Manganese Bronze, which went in to liquidation in October. Back in October we reported that Manganese Bronze – makers of the iconic London Taxi – had gone in to administration, finally tipped over the edge by steering box failures in the TX4. After years of under-investment – and a product that has been usurped by both the Mercedes Vito Taxi and the new Nissan NV200 Taxi – it looked like Manganese Bronze had no way back.
