Peugeot 2008 crossover concept (2012) first pictures

If Peugeot's to survive its current financial woes, it needs to get younger buyers excited about the brand. Along with the 208 GTI, the brand will be showing this, the 2008 concept, at the Paris motor show. It's a small, urban-friendly crossover designed to be more practical than a standard supermini, combined with an eco-friendly 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine.

This is the first Focus designed – from the outset – for European, American and Asian markets combined. The biggest, most pertinent question is whether the global 'One Ford' strategy this car has been designed under can work in practice.

Alfa Romeo Mito Twinair (2012) first official pictures

Alfa Romeo has plumbed Fiat's brilliant and novel two-cylinder engine - the Twinair - into its Mito supermini. The result is the most economical premium supermini on sale, returning in excess of 67mpg. The Mito Twinair will cost £14,510 when it goes on sale on 30 September 2012.
