Mazda RX-8 – a tidy before the Mazda RX-9?
Fri, 24 Jul 2009Mazda is updating the RX-8 for the European market, before the launch of the RX-9 in 2012 So what exactly is the new, updated Mazda RX-8 going to get? In all honesty, probably not much beyond a minor tweak or two. It will still use the 228bhp Wankel engine that sets it apart from the crowd, and should still be a bundle of fun to drive.
MG Icon concept
Wed, 18 Apr 2012The MG Icon concept will be unveiled at the Beijing motor show next week in order to test public reaction to a small crossover, as well as suggesting a new design direction for the brand. Similar in size to the Nissan Juke, the Icon – as its name suggests – plays on MG's back catalogue of classic cars, something the company hasn't done since its takeover by Nanjing and subsequently SAIC in 2005. Despite clearly different proportions the Icon pays homage to the MGB GT sports coupe via its lamp and grille graphics, bumper overriders and fastback tailgate.
Partnership Premium 2030 - Part 1
Mon, 17 May 2010Strate College in Paris, France, has been working on a Peugeot-sponsored project for the past few months. The project asks 30 students who have been divided into 10 groups to create the exterior design, an interior design, any related products (including accessories or new services, for example) and color and trim details for the premium Peugeot for the year 2030 Though there are no constraints on the technical package, the brief stipulates that the teams must create a scenario that illustrates global change, and design a vehicle that fits into this future environment. Designers from Peugeot have been very active in the process, guiding students in weekly critiques and assisting them with specific knowledge in key areas of expertise.
