Porsche Design marks 40th birthday with exhibition

40 years of Porsche Design is being celebrated in an exhibition at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. The Porsche Design Studio was founded in 1972 by automotive legend Ferdinand Alexander Porsche – better known for his design of the iconic Porsche 911 – and has since developed consumer products for the public. Porsche designed a number of classic men's accessories such as watches, sunglasses and pens as well as a number of industrial products and household appliances, collecting honors and awards along the way.

Pagani teases new C9 V12 supercar

Pagani has just released a second teaser video that previews its new supercar; currently known by the internal codename C9, the latest rumour doing the rounds is that Pagani has registered the name Huayra for its Zonda successor. Pagani will unveil the new C9/Huayra at the Geneva motor show in March 2011 – it’s powered by a twin-turbo, AMG-developed V12 engine. One-off Ferrari 458 pays tribute to Niki Lauda Younger readers might not see the connection between Ferrari and Niki Lauda; after all, Niki Lauda is Chairman of the Mercedes F1 team, not Ferrari. But back in the 1970s, Niki Lauda was the Prince of the Ferrari F1 team, notching up driver titles in 1975 and 1977 in a Ferrari (and suffering horrific burns at the Nurburgring in 1975). Although Lauda left Ferrari  in 1977 on less than good terms, the Ron Howard tribute film to the ’70s battle between Lauda and James Hunt – Rush – has obviously had an impact on one of Ferrari’s wealthier clients, who has commissioned Ferrari’s Tailor Made Programme to create a Ferrari 458 dedicated to Niki Lauda.
