Step 1: If you have a current remote, look on the back side of the remote for a part number and FCC ID number. If these numbers match what the remote you are purchasing then the remote will work with your vehicle. Some keyless entry remotes have these numbers on the inside of the remotes, so you will need to take the key fob apart. If you are unable to find the part number and FCC ID number then try giving your local dealership a call, ask for service, then ask them for your key fob part number. They will ask you for your vin # so have that handy. They should give them to you via fax, email, or have you pick them up.

Step 2: You will need to program your remote to your vehicle. The steps to program the key fob to your vehicle can be very simple, however some remotes will require a dealer or locksmith to program them to your vehicle. They will charge you for this, so be prepared to spend extra money for programming. You can find many vehicles programming instructions online at programyourremote. If you do not see your vehicle's key fob programming instructions there then give your local dealership a call, ask for service, then ask them for the key fob programming instructions for your vehicle. They will probably ask you for your vin number, so have that handy. Ask them if the key fobs are self programmable or do you have to have to have a machine to program it to your vehicle, this will let you know if you can program the key fob yourself or if you will have to pay the dealership or a locksmith to program the key fob to your vehicle.

For example, some of the buttons might have wear or not show the picture of a lock or unlock; or there might be a small crack in the case. Mercedes fixes diesel injector problems

Mercedes say that a new injector system for C Class and E Class diesels with the OM651 engine have now been fixed. So extensive was the problem that many owners were waiting months for their cars to be fixed as Mercedes struggled with a mounting pile of broken cars and injectors that were failing. Mercedes tell us that the problem was fixed with the release of new injectors later in 2010, but Cars UK readers have continued to complain about their cars needing multiple visits to dealers with injectors failing multiple times (that original story garnered more than 500 comments from disgruntled Mercedes owners).

Volvo are investing £7 billion in their future – half of that in Sweden – and the first model to benefit will be the long overdue 2014 Volvo XC90. Just like all of Ford’s premium automotive adventures - Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin included – Volvo has suffered from a long period of under investment but now – with China’s Geely in charge – they’re forging ahead with big investment and big plans to try and emulate the turnaround Tata has accomplished at JLR. That means an investment of £7 billion over the next three years – £3.5 billion of that in Sweden – in a new scalable architecture (SPA) platform and new Volvo engine architecture (VEA) to underpin most of Volvo’s future models.

Mitsubishi tease three new concepts for the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

The three Mitsubishi Concepts heading for the Tokyo Motor Show The European Motor Shows may be over for 2013, but the Tokyo Motor Show is still to come (first public day 23rd November), and Mitsubishi are already teasing new concepts for their home show (above). All three concepts preview the future of Mitsubishi’s design language, and all three are SUVs/Crossovers of one kind or another. The biggest of the trio of concepts is the Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV, a proper full-size plug-in hybrid SUV, which Mitsubishi says offer dynamic driving and features MMC’s S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) to deliver better handling and stability on-road and still be properly capable off-road.
