Volkswagen Passat (2011): the American one

Volkswagen has unveiled the US version of the Passat at the 2011 Detroit auto show. VW’s European customers won’t be able to buy it, but will be interested in the price: despite being longer and wider than the car offered in Europe it will start from just £13,000 before taxes for a 168bhp five-cylinder petrol. Think a Mercedes wagon for picky types who find the E-class Estate a tad too sensible.Stuttgart is being unusually candid about this car's provenance, sprinkling the press kit with hints that this will join the next CLS family as a sporty, crossover coupé-estate.

New Kia VR7 models for 2014

Kia Kia has launched VR7 Picanto, Rio and Cee’d special edition models, which provide more equipment than entry-level versions, for a small increase in price. All VR7 special edition cars come with air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and leather steering wheel and gearknob trims. Exterior features include alloy wheels and reversing sensors.
