Sun, 22 Mar 2009Lord Mandelson needs to sort out car finance and the Scrappage Scheme before it's too late. [ad#ad-1] I’m not a huge fan of Government interference in the market. Whatever they do, they usually screw it up.
Volvo S60, V60 & XC60 Polestar Black R – but only in Sweden
Sun, 22 Dec 2013Volvo S60, V60 & XC60 Polestar Black R – but only in Sweden Volvo and Polestar’s relationship has recently yielded the new Volvo V60 Polestar with a fulsome 345 bhp and remarkably decent performance. Now, to celebrate Volvo Polestar’s double title (drivers – Thed Björk - and constructors) in the 2013 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship they’re producing a limited number of Polestar ‘Black R’ models of the S60, V60 and XC60, but only for Sweden. Just like the normal Polestar upgrades, the extra power is more limited than the new V60 Polestar, with the T6 petrol getting 329 horses and the D5 diesel 230, with cosmetic tweaks including Ixion wheels, sports chassis, sports seats, Sensus Connect and more.
Land Rover testing electric Defender 110 pickup
Mon, 12 Aug 2013Land Rover has begun testing an electric version of the Land Rover Defender first shown at the 2012 Geneva motor show. The electric Defender prototype is in service at the Eden Project in Cornwall, U.K., a complex of several large transparent domes that house multiple artificially maintained environments containing thousands of rare plants, and is a popular visitor attraction. At the moment the electric Defender isn't exactly tearing through the Amazon rainforest, but the work it's doing is nevertheless a good approximation of how quite a lot of Defenders are used in real life -- at least in terms of speed and duration of use.
