Alfa Romeo Giulietta (2010) first official pictures: it's the new 147

Alfa has revived an historic badge for its all-new 147 replacement, seen here in these first official pictures issued today. Following a last-minute decision to ditch the name Milano – precipitated by angry Milanese workers irritated at Alfa naming the car after the town despite having shifted operations to Turin – the Golf fighter will be called Giulietta. Using a new platform that will underpin the next Fiat Brava, the Giulietta uses a mix of steel and aluminium clothed in bodywork that borrows cues from the 8C supercar – sort of – including sweptback headlights and a narrow glasshouse.

Dodge is celebrating 100 years of mass-producing automobiles next year. To celebrate, the company is introducing two special 100th Anniversary Editions of the Charger and Challenger at the Los Angeles Auto Show. John and Horace Dodge were already making a decent living supplying parts to Detroit’s burgeoning automotive industry when they decided to introduce their own car, the Dodge Model 30, in 1914.

The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Zagato GTZ - fetched £350k at Bonhams Regular readers may remember that we exclusively reported that Zagato were working on five Ferrari 550 Barchettas to create the Ferrari 550 GTZ just over a year ago. That report caused all sorts of grief as Zagato and their photographer threatened us with all manner of hellfire and brimstone for spoiling their secret. The resulting grief meant we had to take down their photos, but our story stood.
