Mazda MX-5 GT: A rather warm MX-5

The track only Mazda MX-5 GT Back at Frankfurt in 2009, Mazda revealed an MX-5 which had been put on a serious diet – the Mazda MX-5 Superlight – but which was sadly just a concept. And now we get a super-light MX5 that isn’t a concept but also can’t be bought for the road because it’s a track car – the Mazda MX-5 GT. MX-5 lovers the world over weep.

Rare barn finds on sale: Jaguar E-Type and XK120 head to auction

The motoring world remains full of surprises – here we have a pair of classic Jaguars that had apparently been all but forgotten until they were pulled out of their respective hiding places earlier this year. The blue car is an early E-Type, the silver car an early steel-bodied XK120, both are heading to auction with Coys in the Ascot Sale on 26 October 2013. Who's Where: GM's new Asian and European design studio appointments

New additions have been made to the design management teams at General Motors, both in Asia and in Europe. Effective today (August 1), Friedhelm Engler begins his new role as Director of Design for the Pan Asian Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), based in Shanghai, China.  He is responsible for all design related activities in the joint venture between General Motors and the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. Group (SAIC).
