Designed to withstand higher RPM conditions, ACL Race Series Engine Bearings are available for many of the popular 4, 6 & 8 cylinder applications and feature:

    - High strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties

    - Hardened steel backs on all rod bearings to improve the support of the bearing lining and assist with bearing retention in the housing.

    - Increased crush for improved bearing retention

-Elimination of flash plating on the back of the bearings to improve heat transfer through the bearing sand to maximize the grip between the bearings and its housing.

-Increased eccentricity to compensate for bore distortion at high rpm and to assist in the formation of hydrodynamic oil films.

    - 3/4 grooved Main Bearings to optimize bearing load carrying surface area and oil flow to the con-rod bearings.

    - Tight consistent wall tolerances to help you maintain consistent clearances.

    - Enlarged ID chamfers on bearing edges where required to accommodate large fillet radius on performance crankshafts.

BMW has officially released details of the next BMW Z4, due to be shown at Detroit and in UK showrooms in the spring. The new Z4 looks like a big improvement on the outgoing model. The old Z4 had Marmite looks – you loved it or hated it – but the new BMW Z4 has much more voluptuous lines.

Jaguar XJ – the ‘All-Star’ car

Tue, 11 Jan 2011

The Jaguar XJ receives Automobile Magazine's All Star Award No, ‘All Star’ doesn’t refer to celebs who’ve fallen for the charms of Jaguar’s new XJ, from our own Jaguar-loving Richard Madeley to rap’s own Mr Jay-Zed who featuredĀ a new XJ in a recent vid. The ‘All Star’ here is the All-Star Award from America’s Automobile magazine who’ve decided that the new XJ deserves an award, just as the Jaguar XF deserved the same accolade in 2009 and 2010. According to Automobile magazine: “The toughest part about this class is that it’s very hard for any one car to stand out in the crowd, and yet the XJ manages to do just that, in both its design and its dynamics.

2011 Ram Adventurer arrives in the spring

Tue, 15 Feb 2011

There's history, and then there's deep history. Chrysler reached all the way back to the 1950s for the code name of its next Hemi-powered Ram, the "Adventurer." In fact, it wasn't even a Chrysler. Rather, the original Adventurer was a top-of-the-line DeSoto.
