Proton Gen-2 facelift (2008): first photos

It's not the most radical of facelifts, but the Gen-2 gains new exterior detailing including front and rear skirts, a new rear spoiler, redesigned alloy wheels, bumper and grille, plus distinctive, smoke-blacked headlamps. Inside, Proton spotters will recognise fresh red trim splattered around the cabin, a redesigned dashboard and handbrake (thank goodness – the last one pinched your fingers on occasion).

Steve Saleen has been remaking Mustangs for almost 30 years, under one company name or another. We don't have time to list them all here. But under the current moniker, SMS Supercars (SMS stands for Steven Mark Saleen), on Friday he revealed his latest take on the Ford pony car, the 2011 SMS 302 Mustang.

Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer (2009): first pictures

But estates are boring and dull, so Vauxhall has dubbed this the Sports Tourer, not to be confused with Renault’s Sport Tourer. The Sports Tourer will debut at this autumn's Paris motor show and come with a choice of seven engines and the option of front- or four-wheel drive.
