Published on the same day as the Budget, the snappily titled King Review Of Low Carbon Cars Part Two (Recommendations For Action) was lost amid all the hoopla of new tax bands. 2012 Nissan Rogue stickers for $22,340

Nissan is starting the 2012 Rogue crossover at $22,340 (including destination) for the base front-wheel-drive S model. An all-wheel-drive configuration brings that cost to $23,590. The 2012 Rogue is available in two trim levels--S and SV--and with Special Edition, Premium and SL option packages.

Mazda diesels on the way

Word at the New York auto show has Mazda bringing its Sky-D direct-injection diesel engines to the United States in 2012. The first Mazda oil-burner here will be a Mazda 6-size vehicle, said Mazda CEO Takashi Yamanouchi. He wouldn’t say exactly what car, though.
