The CAR Pubcast: which is the best supercar of 2010?
Mon, 17 May 2010Welcome to the inaugural CAR Pubcast™ – where you can hear the CAR Magazine team debate the greatest supercars of 2010. It's to accompany a feature in the new June 2010 issue of CAR, out this week and you can hear the bread rolls being thrown as we argue over the fastest cars to grace our pages this year. The cover story is The Supercar World Cup, as we travel around the world in our endeavour to anoint the year's greatest supercar: the ones that get us drooling, set our pulses racing and make us buy an extra lottery ticket, just in case.
University of Huddersfield Degree Show 2008
Fri, 05 Sep 2008Destinations, the graduate show of the Transport Design degree course at the University of Huddersfield, showed projects created by graduating students earlier this summer as part of the School of Art and Design's Graduate Show week, and also at the New Designers exhibition held in London's Business Design Centre. While a significant proportion of the course is orientated towards automotive exterior and interior design, projects also allow for a wider interpretation of transport design including boats, public transport, trucks and motorcycles as well as more conceptual approaches towards transport issues of the future. This year's graduates investigated a large range of themes and produced a variety of design solutions.
Say Chevrolet--not Chevy--GM tells employees
Thu, 10 Jun 2010From racetracks in the heartland to the iconic strains of “American Pie,” one word--Chevy--has transcended class and culture and helped raise the bow-tie brand to the lofty status as one of the most recognized in the world. But now, one of the most blue-collar and singularly American marques is going formal: General Motors has told its employees to use the world “Chevrolet” instead of the commonly used “Chevy” nickname. An internal memo distributed this week directs workers to use the official name in all communications, from official duties to simple conversations.
