Wed, 27 Jul 2011Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition - AMG cosmetics to garner the last sales It’s usually a fair assumption that when Mercedes launches a car with a ‘Grand Edition’ badge attached to its boot that the end for that model is nigh. And so it is with the Mercedes S-Class Grand Edition. So before the 2012 S-Class arrives with its Magic Sky and Magic Body and Magic everything else, Mercedes has bolted a lot of its high-end cosmetics to the more lowly S-Class models to try and wring the last few sales out of a car that is long in the tooth and no longer as good as the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 or Jaguar XJ.
Toyota reveals Qashqai rival teaser
Mon, 15 Sep 2014THE CROSSOVER bubble seems to be far from bursting, with Toyota revealing a sneak preview of the car it hopes can challenge the Nissan Qashqai. The C-HR concept will be revealed fully for the first time at the Paris Motor Show at the beginning of October. It is said to be fitted with a hybrid drivetrain and is likely to be based on the same chassis that underpins the Lexus NX compact SUV that has recently been launched to global media.
Koenigsegg to celebrate 100th car with special model
Tue, 18 Sep 2012Koenigsegg, Swedish makers of stunning supercars, are planning a very special model to celebrate their 100th car. Christian Von Koenigsegg founded his eponymous supercar company back in 1994, but it took until 2002 for the first customer car to be delivered. That first car was the Koenigsegg CC8 (a development of Christian’s original CC prototype) which featured bespoke everything – from chassis to suspension and brakes – but utilised a Ford 4.7 litre V8.
