Alpine SPS-M601

6-1/2" 2-way marine speakers (Silver.)

High tide, high volume

An afternoon out on the water is a pretty great thing already, but it's even better when you add great sound. Alpine designed their SPS-M601 marine speakers to look good, sound good, and stand up to conditions that would turn lesser speakers into paperweights.

Alpine built these speakers to handle plenty of power, so they'll cut right through the wind, waves, and motor noise to give you the high fidelity you want. The super-stiff 6-1/2" poly woofers and titanium tweeters deliver accurate reproduction with impressive high-frequency details.

These IPx5 water-resistant speakers feature sleek silver UV-resistant grilles and Santoprene rubber surrounds. They're tested tough against salt, fog, and blazing sunlight, so they'll sound great for seasons to come.

Product Highlights:

  • 6-1/2" 2-way marine speakers (pair)
  • poly woofer with rubber surround
  • 7/8" titanium/PEI balanced-dome tweeter
  • UV-resistant grilles and high-temperature ABS custom frames
  • power range: 2-35 watts RMS (110 watts peak power)
  • frequency response: 60-22,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 89 dB

eatures

Channel: A channel in the flange and the grille allow any water splashed on the front of the speaker to drain away.

Speaker Size: Because the grilles are removable, the SPS-M601 fits many car/truck applications. As the size applies to car installations, they are both 6-1/2 and 6-3/4 speakers. The 5" cutout required matches the 6-1/2 standard, but the 6.652" frame diameter is bigger than most 6-3/4 models. There are two sets of screw holes in the flange, one matching the 6-3/4 standard, the other a symmetrical four hole 6-1/2 pattern. If these speakers are to be installed in a car or truck, please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit.

De Tomaso Deauville: The De Tomaso formerly known as SLC. And SLS

Wed, 02 Mar 2011

The new De Tomaso has a name - De Tomaso Deauville So the De Tomaso formerly known as the De Tomaso SLC, and then dubbed the De Tomaso SLS by its octegenarion saviour now has a proper De Tomaso-style name – the De Tomaso Deauville. Which is all fine and dandy – and sounds a lot better than naming the new Tomato* after past and present Mercedes – but seems an odd name to give a cumbersome crossover come SUV come BMW GT wanabee. Why odd, you ask?

It will be the first time that the Spanish carmaker will have a model for Leon and Altea drivers looking for something larger and more aspirational.
