Show Review: Tokyo Concours D’Elegance
Wed, 28 Nov 2007Tokyo has hosted the first of what it hopes will become the Japanese equivalent of America's Pebble Beach and Italy's Villa D'Este. Held at the plush Tokyo Midtown shopping mall/commercial complex, the Tokyo Concours D'Elegance was initiated by enthusiast Paul Goldsmith and coincided with the first public days of the Tokyo Motor Show - though regrettably also with a typhoon, forcing organisers to cover the cars on the lawns, which were ultimately closed due to flooding. Fortunately, the exhibition had been split between in- and outdoors, and while the weather lashed out at those braving the winds, there were still some interesting displays for those wishing to remain dry.
Ford Fiesta ST concept (2011) at the Frankfurt motor show
Tue, 13 Sep 2011This is the new Ford Fiesta ST, just unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. It’s just a concet car for now, but we know a production version of the new Ford Fiesta ST will be revealed at the 2012 Geneva motor show, and that sales will start in the UK in time for next September’s plate change. It’s the same format Ford followed with the Focus ST, revealing a near-production concept at the 2010 Paris motor show, and then pulling the wraps off the real thing last night.
Dream Cars: yesterday's cars of tomorrow
Fri, 23 May 2014Dream Cars: Innovative Design, Visionary Ideas - to give it its full name - is an exhibition at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, which showcases yesterday’s cars of tomorrow. In other words, the cars of the future, according to automotive designers from as far back as the 1930s right up to the present day. These are the concept cars that gave designers the chance to dream of the future and push the limits of imagination and design.
