This 4.0 Liter Aluminum Cylinder Head was used on a restoration of a 1993 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.2 block.  The restoration was done in 2006.  It was run on this engine for 15,400 miles.  I had a problem with overheating as I was running an airconditioned setup with an engine that was bored .030 over stock and had a racing cam.  The A/C cooling system was in front of the radiator which caused the engine to overheat on a 300 mile trip in Texas in July.  The head lost some compression in the number 4 cylinder so I removed it and had it milled and the valves reset.  Since then, it has not been used, but was replaced.  I originally paid $1,620 for the head when it was new, and the current price is around $2,000.

The Engine was built by a former DEI shop foreman in Mooresville, NC.  It was dynameter tested at 320 HP, largely due to the addition of the 4.0 Head on the 4.2 liter block.  The engine currently has two water ports blocked to accommodate the conversion to the unique set up.  This can easily be modified by drilling out the porting if you desire.

Below is the information as it appears on the HESCO website.  The heads are currently on backorder, so they are not available online at this time.

New Hyundai i30 (2012) previewed ahead of Frankfurt

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

2012 Hyundai i30 previewed ahead of Frankfurt It’s easy to think of the Hyundai i30 as part of the new wave of Euro-centric Hyundai’s. But it’s now four years old and starting to look like ‘Old’ Hyundai, so we’re to be treated to a new Hyundai i30 at Frankfurt – destined to launch in early 2012. That said, the new i30 is not going to be a radical departure from the current i30, which has been a decent success for Hyundai.

Ford preparing fastest ever four-door—in Australia

Mon, 02 Jul 2012

Ford's struggling Australian outpost is set to unleash its fastest-accelerating car yet in the form of a limited- edition version of the four-door Falcon GT Boss 335 sedan running various chassis-based performance enhancements, according to Australian media reports. Known internally at the company's Ford Performance Vehicles division under the code name Panther, the Blue Oval's supersedan is set to run the same supercharged 5.0-liter V8 as the standard Falcon GT Boss 335—itself a locally developed version of the Mustang's 90-degree Coyote unit with unique cylinder heads and renamed Miami. It delivers 449 hp at 5,750 rpm and 420 lb-ft of torque at 2,200 rpm.
