Up for sale is my AMC 401 V8. I bought with hopes of installing it in an old jeep that ended up selling when I got laid off, now the engine has been just sitting in my garage taking up space. Here are the details.
Block came out of a j2000 pickup Bored .040" over New cam bearings and freeze plugs Block has been hot tanked and re painted the correct AMC blue metallic Crankshaft has been inspected and shaved .020" New main and rod bearings. New .040" pistons and rings Cylinder heads are high compression dog leg heads from a 1970 AMX. Heads have been ported and polished Has 11/32" valve guides 2.100 intake and 1.700 exhaust valves New valve springs and retainers Comp cams roller rockers Edlebrock intake Chrome valve covers All new engine hardware and gasket sets New water and fuel pump Engine needs to be assembled and is for local pick up. Wed, 23 Apr 2014Porsche Macan gets 2.0 litre 4-Cylinder petrol engine The new Porsche Macan looks set to change the rules for the compact SUV market, with class best handling and dynamics and performance that beats many a focused hot hatch. But despite beliefs Porsche would offer its first 4-cylinder engine in a generation at launch, the only engines on offer were a 3.0 litre diesel in the Macan S Diesel, a 3.0 V6 Turbo in the Macan S and a 3.6 litre turbo in the Macan Turbo, with expectations that the Macan wouldn’t get a four-cylinder engine util the end of 2014. But it looks like an early arrival for the four-pot Macan with news it’s getting a new 2.0 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine which delivers 237bhp and 258lb/ft of torque, enough to get the Macan to 62mph in 6.9 seconds and offer official economy of 37.6mpg.

It’s...the celebrity-spotting reader-blogger No report from one of the world’s great motorshows would be complete without a wide-eyed fanboy list of all the famous people he saw there. So bear with me while I try to avoid sounding like Jeremy Hart or Piers Morgan while name-dropping furiously below (I know, it’s impossible, but can’t blame me for trying). Paparazzi pics provided where available. 1) Georg Kacher – spotted outside having a smoke by the entrance on Monday press day, as Team Thonon-les-bains (car4mh, Lokinen, Robby1977) battled their way to meet up with editor Tim. Georg really is larger than life. We didn’t get a chance to say hi, but Robby noted that being part of the international brotherhood of nicotine addicts wasn’t a bad thing if you’re in such illustrious company. Batty, we did not accomplish your dare, for all the reasons I mentioned in the forum and more. 2) Tim Pollard – ok, I’m cheating because we were working for him, but come on, the guy does great work for the website.
