Well, Jaguar F-Type was one of the monikers we pitched as a possibility for the new Jaguar Roadster and Coupe previewed by the C-X16 Concept, but it was a long way off the top of the list. A redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry sedan is coming this fall--and Toyota is cranking up the marketing machine. On Wednesday, Toyota posted a teaser photo of the 2012 Camry--a look at the car's left-front corner, showing the headlamp, hood, a flared wheel arch and the windshield. You can also see a fog light, a clue that this is one of the higher trim levels of the Camry family.

Apple and Ferrari—What could be better?

Recently a press release popped into my email (remember when we used to say “came across my desk”?) that said Eddy Cue, Apple's head of Internet software and services, has joined Ferrari's board of directors. The statement said while on the board Cue, a Ferrari owner, will “aid with his experience in Internet-based commerce.” My two cents: It's a brilliant move for both parties, and the ramifications could be huge. Think about it: Does this mean Apple wants to make stuff for cars?
