Meriva 2010 – the Video
Thu, 21 Jan 20102010 Vauxhall/Opel Meriva - video below GM’s European arm – Vauxhall and Opel - have been on a roll model-wise for quite some time. The Insignia is a really good car and the new Astra has turned out to be up there with the best in class. And the latest model to get a makeover is the Meriva, which looks like it’s going to be up there with the rest of the Vauxhall / Opel range.
Vauxhall / Opel can’t sell to the U.S.
Wed, 03 Jun 2009Vauxhall Insignia VXR Sports Tourer won't go on sale in the US Probably the most significant thing so far is that Opel and Vauxhall will not be allowed to sell cars in the US, or indeed in to China. Which does cut out a lot of potential, if not exactly a lot of current, sales possibilities. It makes sense for GM to have made this clause in the sale agreement, but it will hurt the new Magna owned group in the long run.
Rearview cameras may become mandatory
Fri, 02 Mar 2012Rearview cameras may become a mandatory feature in all passenger cars by 2014 if US Congress approves a rule submitted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Auto safety regulators have taken the decision to submit a final rule to Congress after figures emerged from non-profit group KidsandCars.org that stated that two children die and about 50 are injured every week when someone accidentally backs over them in a vehicle. In one quite shocking public-service announcement KidsAndCars.org showed that 62 children could fit behind a large SUV without being visible to the driver in any of the mirrors.
