Northumbria University Degree Show 2008

Students graduating from the Northumbria University BA (Hons) Transportation Design course based in Newcastle in the north east of England have shown their work at an exhibition entitled ‘New Designers'. Held the Business Design Centre in Islington, north London, the exhibition featured a series of schools displaying various thesis projects from their Art and Design programs. Mitsubishi bringing i MiEV Sport Air concept to Geneva

Mitsubishi will show another iteration of its sporty micro-size electric car with the debut of the i MiEV Sport Air concept at the Geneva motor show in March. Building on the i MiEV Sport, which we first saw at the Tokyo motor show in 2007, Mitsubishi adds a clear removable roof and slight alterations to the front fascia. A lithium-ion battery powers three magnetic synchronous motors--one in each front wheel and one to drive both rear wheels--with an all-wheel control system managing stability and traction control, and ABS for optimal stability and performance.

Here's the image that has the Web abuzz today--an apparent brochure scan of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL distributed by a European automotive site. Design cues reminiscent of the SLS AMG are unmistakable, and the new SL also takes on a fairly prominent iteration of the corporate front fascia. Underneath, Mercedes is promising a new aluminum architecture that will save weight while boosting rigidity.
