OnStar to tap Google to guide the Chevrolet Volt

General Motors Co.'s OnStar telematics unit is bringing Google mobile navigation technology into the car. Chevrolet Volt drivers whose smartphones use Google's Android operating system will be able to use their phones to pinpoint their vehicle's location on Google Maps, GM said in a statement released Tuesday. They can then request a destination by speaking it into the phone, and have the desired destination sent directly to the car.

Infiniti Q30 concept debuts before Frankfurt auto show

A concept of the new Infiniti Q30, a crossover hatchback that will go on sale in the US in 2015, has been unveiled ahead of a Frankfurt motor show debut. Based on new front-drive platform developed by Mercedes-Benz for its A-class family, the Q30 features a slightly raised ride height, sweeping roofline and confident styling, all aimed at winning sales from younger buyers who are predicted to make-up 80 per cent of global luxury car-buyers by 2020. Fernandes confirms Team Lotus-Caterham deal

Tony Fernandes has officially confirmed that Team Lotus Enterprises has taken over tiny British sports-car maker Caterham Cars. Named after the London suburb where it was founded, Caterham bought the rights to the Lotus Seven design in 1973 and has been exploiting it ever since with increasingly sophisticated models that stay true to the original concept. The company is now based in Dartford, close to the Brands Hatch race circuit.
