Peugeot 508 – 5 By Peugeot Concept
Mon, 15 Feb 2010Peugeot are taking the '5 by Peugeot' Concept to Geneva - the new Peugeot 508 Back in November we reported that Peugeot were going to stop producing the 407 and 607 and deliver a new car to fill the gap – the Peugeot 508. Which makes a whole heap of sense. Apart from in France it’s always been then case that the bigger the French car the poorer its sales are, and the poor old 607 hasn’t exactly set the world alight with its huge sale.
McLaren P1 gets 903bhp
Wed, 20 Feb 2013McLaren has revealed that their new supercar – the McLaren P1 – will deliver 903bhp and have emissions below 200g/km. The McLaren P1 will get 727bhp from its 3.8 litre V8 with an additional 176bhp coming from an electric motor for a combined power delivery of 903bhp, with the V8 contributing 531lb/ft of torque and the electric motor an instant 192lb/ft for a combined torque of 664lb/ft at 4000rpm. The boost from the electric motor is instantly available at the flick of a button on the steering wheel – McLaren call it Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) – which instantly throws more additional power to aid the McLaren’s V8 than a pair of Fiestas can manage.
Red-hot VW Golf R400 is headed for production
Tue, 22 Apr 2014If you thought the Volkswagen Golf R400 concept displayed at the Beijing auto show seemed suspiciously like a real product -- you know, one you'll someday be able to buy rather than something trotted out to tease the world's enthusiasts -- you were on to something. VW says a production version of the car is in the works. We should clarify: We didn't get confirmation of that, exactly.
