Ford Racing Raptor Assault school helps you learn to drive, jump and crawl
Wed, 24 Oct 2012There are plenty of high-performance driving schools featuring sporty favorites such as the Mazda Miata, BMW M3 and Cadillac CTS-V. But if that’s not your forte, Ford and Miller Motorsports Park in Utah are offering a chance to learn the ins and outs of your Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pickup at the Ford Racing Raptor Assault program. The program provides hands-on experience at Miller’s state-of-the-art off-road course that includes an 8-acre rock-crawling course, a 22-acre high-speed off-road course and a 900-acre desert racing course to put it all together.
Screaming Fords at Kirkland Concours d'Elegance
Fri, 15 Oct 2010Compared with its high-tech-center neighbors--Bellevue and Redmond--the town of Kirkland, Wash., is relatively unknown. But Kirkland is where the vibrant car-collector scene in the area is shown at its best each fall at the Kirkland Concours d'Elegance. And while you may not have heard of Kirkland, you've probably heard of its famous Pacific Northwest weather--not the best, you'd think, for outdoor car shows.
WRC Mini Concept (2010) first official pictures
Thu, 30 Sep 2010While the Mini Countryman might be destined for suburban mumsville, BMW has confirmed the new model will also terrorise the countryside in the form of the WRC Mini from 2011, with IRC champ Kris Meeke at the wheel. Officially launched at the 2010 Paris motor show in concept guise, the WRC Mini will be engineered and run by motorsport doyen Dave Richards and his Prodrive outfit, although customer packages will be available too, allowing independents to compete in the car. Not so much – this is no time for misty-eyed Paddy Hopkirk odes.
