Ford Energi drivers use all-electric mode 60 percent of the time

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Ford has noticed quite a few interesting things by researching how owners use their Ford plug-in hybrids. It appears that Ford owners are driving their hybrids in electric mode nearly 60 percent of the time, using their cars' 21 miles of gas-free all-electric range. This figure contrasts quite a bit with the 41 percent of all-electric drive time earlier in the year, demonstrating that winter driving patterns differ quite a bit from summer driving.

BMW 1-series M Coupe (2011) teaser video

Tue, 31 Aug 2010

BMW is continuing to build up the hype ahead of the launch of its next M car – this is a teaser video giving us our first glimpse of the undisguised BMW 1-series M Coupe What’s new is our first look at this hot 1-series’ butch bodykit, complete with an engorged front bumper and triple air intakes. There are CSL-alike 19-inch wheels too, and sitting between the cross-drilled front discs is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six, producing 335bhp and 369lb ft. Drive, thankfully, goes to just the rear wheels, and they’ll be a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. There’ll be an M diff too, but we hear it might be on the options list as BMW’s money men fight to keep the list price under £40k.

Ford Ranger (2012) Revealed

Thu, 14 Oct 2010

The 2012 Ford Ranger launches in Australia The Ford Ranger is one of those strange hybrid vehicles. No, not hybrid in the sense of a mixed power sources for the oily bits, but in the sense that it’s really neither fish nor foul; neither a commercial truck nor a private car. What the Ford Ranger is is a pick-up.
