Koenigsegg Agera One:1 is world’s first “megacar”

Even in a world recently introduced to the Ferrari LaFerrari  (sold out), McLaren P1 (sold out) and Porsche 918 Spyder (er… ) hypercars, boutique Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg has just made an extraordinary announcement. At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it will reveal the Agera One:1 – which Koenigsegg has dubbed the world’s first "megacar". Thing is, having looked at the spec, we believe it.

VW had a bash at their own Dune Buggy back in 2000, but now, ahead of a reveal at the Detroit Auto Show next week, we have what looks like a buggy from VW that could actually be heading for production – the Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept. VW has revealed a single image of their Beetle Dune Concept (above) that shows a jacked-up Beetle with big wheels and tyres, a ski rack on the back and a bit of cosmetic titivation.

Hyundai ponders second U.S. plant

As a lack of production capacity restrains its growth, Hyundai will consider a second U.S. assembly plant. "That's something that we're going to look at," Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik said last week at the Detroit auto show.
