This is a beautiful, restored 1946-48 Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth & De Soto deluxe 7-button radio manufactured by Philco (model C-4608). Mopar model 802. It is original 6-volt positive ground. This radio is also correct for 1951-52 B series trucks. Also included is a copy of the very hard to find original owners manual to guide you with installation, setting the electronic push buttons and operation of the radio. The manual copy is intended for informational purposes only. Servicing of the radio included a thorough cleaning and lubrication, new capacitors, replacement of out of value resistors, tested tubes, great working vibrator, alignment, the excellent original power/speaker wire and plug, working dial lamp, new dial glass, new tone wheel dial art and a new fuse link with new fuse and eye terminal for easy installation. The original speaker plug is in excellent condition and is ready to hook up to your original Mopar 802 speaker. All of the mechanics function, as they should including the electronic station presets, station selections and manual tuning. The radio plays and sounds much better than most car radios of the era with great reception (receives a lot of stations), tone and sensitivity up and down the tuning scale. This truly is a great sounding radio. Not only does the radio play well but it is in beautiful cosmetic condition as well with bright shiny chrome on the bezel, original knobs and push buttons. There are a few imperfections here and there as expected with age but overall the radio is pleasing to the eye. The tone wheel dial art (voice, mello, music) shown in the bottom window of the dial is new and is an exact reproduction of the original in color and font. You will not find this dial art on any other radios offered and I've never seen one of these radios that hasn't needed it. Be sure to take advantage of the zoom feature for a closer look. If you want a beautiful and great playing original radio adorning the dash of your classic Mopar then you will be very happy with this fine example that is ready to install. CA residents pay 7.75%. Your well packaged radio will be shipped the day following receipt of payment. Thank you!

Ford 'video snack' makes technology more appetizing

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

Whether you opt for it or not, many cars sold today come loaded with technology. Some drivers are savvy and learn how to navigate many of the features right away; others drive for months or even years before they crack the code of their vehicle's capabilities. Ford's new video snack approach presents a palatable method of teaching new car owners all they want to know about their new vehicle.

After a miss with the Sebring, Chrysler resets its upscale mission

Mon, 22 Nov 2010

With the 2011 200 sedan, due in December, the Chrysler brand is taking another shot at the vast mid-sized sedan market, a target it missed badly with the Sebring. The 200, derived from the Sebring, resets the brand mission: refined design, luxury touches inside, a quiet ride and responsive handling--at affordable prices. The approach will be shared by the reworked Chrysler Town & Country minivan, also due in December, and the reworked 2012 Chrysler 300 sedan, which arrives in March.

Spiderman is driver's ideal superhero rescuer

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

MORE DRIVERS in the UK say they would want Spiderman to save them in the event of a breakdown than any other superhero. The web-shooting superhero was chosen by 24% of drivers as they reckon he’d be more able to fix their car or get them to safety. Superman was a close second (22%) in the survey by IGW, with drivers commenting the crime fighter from Krypton would be able to lift their car to a garage to be fixed.
