Part coupe, part commercial vehicle – according to a Nissan spokesperson we spoke to at the show – the Townpod concept features a clear product aesthetic and the inherent practicality of a van, without resorting to outright utilitarianism. Scion introduces FR-S Release Series

Scion introduced the first FR-S Release Series car, “drawing on track heritage and the expertise of Toyota Racing Development" at the New York auto show. The biggest change on the FR-S Release Series is the custom-designed aerodynamic work, including the front lip, rear spoiler and side skirts. It also gets Toyota Racing Development quad exhaust, lowering springs and a smart key with push-button start.

Daihatsu Sonica

Daihatsu launched the Sonica yesterday, a small hatchback for Japan. Designed in Osaka, the Daihatsu Sonica furthers the goal of parent company Toyota Motor Corporation to make the brand synonymous with small affordable cars. Distinguished by a long wheelbase and short overhangs, the one-box Sonica should live up to its description of having a 'spacious and comfortable' interior.
