GM to shut down Saab
Fri, 18 Dec 2009General Motors will shut down Saab after the automaker wasn't able to conclude a deal to sell the brand to Spyker Cars, GM said on Friday. “Despite the best efforts of all involved, it has become very clear that the due diligence required to complete this complex transaction could not be executed in a reasonable time," GM Europe president Nick Reilly said in a statement. "In order to maintain operations, Saab needed a quick resolution.
2013 Infiniti IPL G convertible officially announced at Pebble Beach

The 2013 Infiniti IPL G convertible will likely share hardware with the IPL G coupe on sale now, and the power retractable hardtop used by the G37 convertible. IPL, which stands for Infiniti Performance Line, is the manufacturer's in-house performance department, serving as an extension of the Nissan NISMO works into the company's luxury division.

Clearly showing influences from the Enzo and the Mille Chille Concept car, the F430 replacement will undoubtedly go upmarket in terms of price to differentiate it from Ferrari’s entry-level car, the Ferrari California. Featuring a new, 4.5 litre V8 (hence the name – 458) , Ferrari claim the new engine has the highest specific output of any normally aspirated road-car engine, which is a hard claim to dispute as it produces 127bhp per litre. It produces 562bhp at 9000 rpm, making it the highest revving Ferrari engine to date.
