Wed, 28 Jul 2010GM has revealed that the Volt hybrid could cost $33,500 (£21,000) in the US after government tax credits, making it nearly £2000 cheaper than Nissan’s Leaf electric car. The Volt’s List price is $41,000 (£26,300) but qualifies for a subsidy thanks to its low emissions. A basic Volt comes with Bluetooth and sat-nav but buyers can add leather seats and steering wheel, heated seats, rear camera, polished wheels and park assist.
Porsche Macan gets four-cylinder powerplant

Parent company Volkswagen's EA888 engine -- as used by a wide range of models from Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat -- will motivate the new Porsche SUV. The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder direct-injection unit, boasting the same state of tune found on the Golf GTi Performance Package, develops 234 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque between 1,500 and 4,500 rpm.
Ford recalls trucks to fix fuel-tank straps
Mon, 01 Aug 2011Ford is recalling 1.1 million pickups to fix fuel-tank straps that can corrode and possibly break. The recall covers 1997-2003 Ford F-150s, F-250s and the Lincoln Blackwood pickup. The fuel-tank straps could corrode over time, leading to failure and the tank dropping to the pavement.
