The 2011 Kia pro_cee'd facelift arrives - 18 months after the Kia cee'd

2011 Kia pro-cee’d facelift revealed does rather imply that Kia has had a hand in teasing a facelift for the grammatically-challenged pro_cee’d. But they haven’t. This reveal of a facelift for the three-door cee’d comes courtsey of the Kia World forum who have managed to get their hands on a few images ahead of an official reveal.

The changes are evident enough on the faceleifted pro-cee’d, if not exactly radical. As you would expect, the pro_cee’d gets treated to the latest family nose with its H-shaped grill and some new front fogs. There are also a new set of headlights and the tail lights get a tweak and there are new bumpers front and back.

It is also suggested that the ‘Sporty’ pro-cee’d will get a bit of an engine facelift too with the existing 1.6 CRDI – which currently manages 113bhp – getting a bit of a fettling to raise its game to 128bhp and 188lb/ft of torque.

Nothing too stunning, but it does at least bring the Kia pro_cee’d in line with its saloon sibling – the Kia cee’d – which revealed similar updates eighteen months ago. In fact it’s taken so long to update the pro_ceed we thought Kia had decided to let it wither on the vine. Instead of which it will arrive refreshed at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Nothing to get too excited about, but the Kia pro_cee’d is a decently capable little car for not a lot of money and the updates do make it look more current. Just don’t drive it too enthusiastically or you’ll struggle to get round bends. And the pro_cee’d is a bit more crashy-bashy than the five-door cee’d.

Maybe they’ll fix that too on the facelift.
