2013 Lexus LS: Price & Spec announced

Lexus has revealed that the 2013 Lexus LS will start at £71,995 for the LS 460 Luxury rising to £99,495 for the LS 600h L Premier.

Lexus has brought back the LS 460 for those who don’t want the hybrid LS 600h, so you can now have your new LS with a 4.6 litre V8 with 382bhp and no electric gubbins. Not only that, but you can opt for the LS 460 in Luxury or F Sport spec for a little dynamic edge.

The Lexus LS 460 Luxury offers 18″ alloys, bi-xenons, LED running lights, leather, Climate, air conditioned electric front seats, interior dynamic illumination, Mark Levinson sound, DVD, DAB, SatNav and a thumping great 12.3″ colour display for the infotainment.

If you want something a bit more dynamic then the new LS 460 Sport is the way to go with 19″ F Sport alloys, Brembos, lateral damping, limited slip diff and suspension tweaks. There’s no more power on offer, but what you do get will drive more dynamically.

Cosmetically, the LS 460 F Sport gets the impressive spindle grill and butch bumpers and the interior gets perfortated leather seats and steering wheel, aluminium pedals and an aluminium finish for the dash and a set of Lexus scuff plates.

The new Lexus 600h L Premier is the range topper and keeps the hybrid setup we’re used to from the previous LS with a 5.0 litre V8 and 439bhp.

Extra goodies on the LS 600h – which only comes with a stretched wheelbase – includes the Climate Concierge system that uses infra-red sensors to monitor the facial temperature of occupants to automatically adjust cabin temperature, electrically reclining rear seats with electric footrests and lumber massage and remote control for the rear seat behind the front passenger seat.

The LS 600h L also gets an Advance Pre-Crash Safety system to help collision avoidance and mitigate the consequence for cars and pedestrians together with Lane Keep Assist and Blind Sport Monitoring. A Night Vision system is a £1515 option.

The new 2013 Lexus LS is now on sale with first customer cars due to arrive in January 2013. The LS 460 Luxury costs £71,995, the LS 460 F Sport £74,495 and the LS 600h L Premier £99,495.

And we wouldn’t mind betting it’s the Lexus LS 460 F Sport that turns out to be the big seller. It looks rather appealing.
