2013 Range Rover deliveries start at JLR’s new Handover Centre

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The first UK deliveries of the 2013 Range Rover have taken place at Jaguar Land Rover’s all new Handover Centre in Solihull.

The new JLR Handover centre is JLR’s answer to the experiences premium German marques offer buyers, with a new car collection becoming a real ‘event’ instead of just a bunch of keys and a quick chat at your local dealers.

Buyers of new Land Rovers who are happy to cough up £1200 when they order their new car at their dealers can now take delivery at JLR’s all new high-tech building, standing at the Lode Lane entrance of JLR’s Solihull facility.

Buyers are greeted on arrival by a personal concierge and enter a VIP Lounge with five metre-high ceilings and luxury fittings with a boutique feel.

They get an introduction to their new car in a Meridian cinema-style theatre and then move on to the unveil room where their new car will be unveiled using 3D projection technology which silhouettes the build of the car over the actual car being presented. That’s followed by a tour of the factory and a play at Land Rover’s off-road experience driving centre if required.

Mark Cameron – JLR’s Global Brand Experience Director, said:

This facility has been designed to provide customers with the opportunity to come into direct contact with our brand. It offers an intimate setting while delivering bespoke and premium experiences using the latest technologies to offer the very highest levels of customer service.

The first run for the new Handover centre saw businessman Denys Short – a Range Rover owner for 25 years – and his wife (pictured above) receive their new Range Rover. Denys said:

My wife and I have really enjoyed our day here, the unveil was spectacular and it’s a very special place to be handed the keys and have an introduction to our new cars.

It’s made the whole buying experience really personal and we are looking forward to touring the factory and driving an All-New Range Rover on the off-road course.

We like supporting British manufacturing and Land Rover is such a great British brand.  This All-New Range Rover is truly superb and I believe the best car in the world – just got better!

And let’s face it, with many spending upwards of £100k on a new Range Rover, an extra £1200 to make the whole experience a real event is probably well worth it.
