2013 Skoda Octavia price & specs – costs from £15,990

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Skoda has revealed prices and specifications for the new Octavia which will cost from £14,990 rising to £23,240.

The new Skoda Octavia – Skoda’s new Octavia built on the new VW Golf platform – was revealed last month and goes on sale in March, so Skoda have had their abacus out to work out how much they want for a piece of new Octavia action.

Starting point is the Octavia 1.2 TSi S which will cost £15,990, with the cheapest diesel – the Octavia 1.6 TDI S – starting at £18,040 and the range topping out with the Octavia 2.0 litre diesel Elegance at £23,240.

Skoda are offering three trim levels on the new Octavia, with the S trim including 16″ alloys, Bluetooth, DAB, electric front windows and mirrors, Hill Hold, AirCon, Stop-Start and leather steering wheel.

Move up to the mid-range Octavia SE and you can add in better alloys, rear parking sensors, Climate, driver mode selection and rear electric windows, with the Octavia Elegance adding 17″ alloys, Alcantara and leather, SatNav, Driver Alert and High Beam Assist.

Engines on offer are the 1.2 litre TSI with 104bhp and 57.7mpg, 1.4 litre TSI with 138bhp and 53.3mph, 1.6 litre TDI with 104bhp and 74.3mpg and the 2.0 litre TDI with 148bhp and 68.2mpg. There’s also a Greenline version with the 1.6 TDI coming later and offering 83mpg and 99g/km and, of course, the new Octavia vRS later in 2013.

Prices are up a chunk on the old Octavia, but Skoda are keen to tell us that the Octavia S has £3,500 more equipment than the old Octavia S, the Octavia SE £3,890 more and the Octavia Elegance a whopping £5,300 more.

The 2013 Skoda Octavia looks a convincing effort, and if you want to grab one it goes on sale in the UK on 16th March.
