The new Lexus RC Coupe (pictured) debuts at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

It was back in July that the new Lexus RC Coupe was confirmed for a debut at this year’s Tokyo Motor show and now, with Tokyo just a few weeks away, Lexus has revealed the RC Coupe. The RC Coupe gets an evolution of the Lexus design language – more akin to its recent concept models than production cars – with a heavily contoured shape and the big Lexus spindle grill and lights that look like they’ve taken their inspiration from the LF-LC Concept.

There’s also a choice of 18″ and optional 19″ alloys, with the 18″ looking butch and the 19″ elegant.

Inside the cabin of the RC Coupe it all looks a bit more concept than production, with the upper part of the dash housing the instruments and 7″ Infotainment/SatNav screen with a touch-sensitive controller lower down, and with seats using an integrated foaming construction – like the moulding of racing seats – for comfort and support.

There’s also a Lexus first lighting package for the interior with lighting that reflects upwards for maximum impact.

Under the bonnet will be aq choice of either a 3.5 litre V6 or a hybrid powertrain with electric motor and a 2.5 litre V6, although powertrains for the UK and Europe may offer different options.

The new Lexus RC Coupe will debut in Tokyo in a few weeks.
