Audi A4 SE Technik – gets more equipment, costs less

The Audi A4 SE Technik (pictured) gets more equipment and costs less

‘Special Edition’ cars are a way to get more for less from car makers, as long as the goodies on offer at cut price float your boat, and Audi’s Technik upgrade for the new A4 Saloon and Avant is one such upgrade that offers good value. And now it’s got better. The A4 Technik already gets a well-chose list of upgrades from the regular SE trim, with Milano leather, HDD MMI Nav plus, AMI iPod connection and Audi Parking Plus all part of the package at an extra cost of £1,350 over the SE spec.

But now Audi has decided to improve the Technik offering by throwing in a nice set of 18″ ten-spoke alloys (although not on the TDIi model) and metallic paint in the price, and the price has also dropped by £350 to just £1,000 extra. Audi say that’s a saving of £3k over speccing up an SE with the same goodies.

It all adds up to a well-specced Audi A4 at none too silly price, with the range offering everything from the SE Technik 1.8 TFSI 120PS with 6-speed manual ‘box at £24,960 to the SE Technik 2.0 TDI quattro 177PS with 7-speed S tronic ‘box at £31,935.

The newly improved Audi A4 SE Technik is available in Saloon or Avant and is now on sale.
