The Germany only BMW Z4 Mille Miglia

As we mentioned the other day when we were talking about Jaguar and the Mille Miglia, it’s that Mille Miglia time of year when car makers turn to their history books to see if they can get some mileage out of a Mille Miglia link and attach it to current products.

Jaguar haven’t gone as far as having an XF Mille Miglia – settling instead for a turnout at this year’s event of classic Jags – but BMW have decided the time is right for a limited edition to celebrate past successes. So we’re being treated to the BMW Z4 sDrive35is Mille Miglia. Or at least the Italians are.

BMW are churning out 99 kitted out Z4 sDrive35is to commemorate their Mille Miglia victory in 1940, when a BMW 328 Kamm Coupe took first, third, fifth and sixth places. A not inconsiderable achievement.

Sadly, the BMW Z4 sDrive35is Mille Miglia is not quite such a stunning achievement, although there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the bog standard Z4 sDrive35is – it’s a cracking car.

But the Mille Miglia edition is just a cosmetic job with a M Sport body kit, custom 19″ alloys and a black grill. Inside gets Alcantara and red stitching and some Mille Miglia badges.

Sometimes it’s frustrating to see really good limited editions not coming to the UK. But I wouldn’t worry too much about us not getting the BMW Z4 sDrive35is Mille Miglia.

It’s nothing special.
