Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse promo video

With the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse officially available Bugatti has decided it needs its own promotional video.

Bugatti revealed the Veyron Grand Sport with the heart of the Super Sport as the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse in February, ahead of a public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in Geneva. And it’s the ultimate syrup-shredder.

The regular Grand Sport is a startlingly quick dose of open-top motoring, but the Veyron Vitesse takes that extreme to the ultimate.

It gets the Super Sport’s 1200hp (1184bhp in real money) 1016lb/ft of torque version of the quad-turbo W16 to offer 0-62mph in 2.6 seconds, 0-186mph in 16 seconds and a top speed of 254.8mph. Which will probably detach the recently transplanted follicles on top of the buyer’s head (no point having a Vitesse if you have no hair to blow in the wind).

Running costs are as extreme as any other Veyron, with servicing bills of around £40k a year and a new set of tyres at about half that – and you really need to change them once a year.

Economy isn’t the best at 6.3mpg around town and emissions of 867g/km will make eco-mentalists spontaneously combust. But when you’re paying €1.9 million for the Veyron Vitesse in the first place, a couple of grand a week in running costs aren’t going to be too troublesome.

But just in case any of this is causing you to hesitate before you part with your dosh for a new Grand Sport Vitesse, Bugatti has produced a little promo video to entice you. And it probably says all you need to know about any likely Veyron Vitesse owner.

The power and performance figures of the Veyron Vitesse is the shouty bit at the start, and the rest is all about posing the Veyron in stunning scenery.

Which says all you need to know.
