Thu, 28 Jun 2012

Car Design News and Opel/Vauxhall are pleased to announce that the second phase of its collaborative competition is now underway.

The second phase of the CDN-Opel/Vauxhall competition is specifically for the seven shortlisted students from the first phase. All competition members are encouraged to comment and offer advice to the shortlisted students as they strive to make the final cut.

Now the final sevenmust further develop both the Interior and Exterior designs they submitted during the first phase of the competition. They'll be guided and advised by their assigned personal mentor from Opel/Vauxhall design.

Ahmad Moslemifar has been assigned Richard Shaw, Chief Designer Advanced Design, as his personal mentor while Vladislav Domanin will be working with Marc Van der Haegen, Chief Designer Advanced Design.

Mateusz Wowk will be developing his project under the guidance of Kurt Beyer, Chief Designer Small Car Interiors with Ali Kerkeni being assigned Uwe Müller, Chief Designer Compact Car Exteriors. Florian Theis, Assistant Chief Designer Small Cars Exterior, will be guiding Marc Devauze through his final development phase.

To round off the shortlisted seven, Matic Vihtelic will be working with Daniel Schmitt, Assistant Chief Designer while Borris Ilse, Assistant Chief Designer Advanced Concepts and Showcars, has been assigned to Borys Dabrowski.

The shortlisted seven have until midnight on 2 September to complete their final entries, at which point judging will take place and the three finalists chosen.

The final three will all be invited to attend the prize giving at the Paris Motor show at the end of September, where their work will be displayed to the professional design community. The overall winner will be announced, with the lucky student heading to the Opel/Vauxhall design studios in Russelsheim, Germany, for a paid internship.
