Chevrolet and Disney develop virtual design experience

Mon, 12 Nov 2012

Chevrolet designers and Disney ‘Imagineers' will offer Walt Disney World Resort guests a glimpse inside a professional design studio.

After 18 months of collaboration in the fields of industrial, automotive design to architecture and animation, visitors will be immersed in a multi-sensory virtual experience.

The experience gives visitors the chance to create their own designs – cars, trucks or crossovers – with some help from Chevrolet designers before test driving it on virtual track surfaces that imitate the real performance tests. Each vehicle design will be assessed and scored based on how well their design balanced the core attributes.

Guests will then be able to race their vehicle on a ‘digital driving table' as well as produce and share a TV commercial and pose for pictures in front of their design.

The teams used a number of ways to tell the story such as visual cues inspired by the carmaker's design language, speed forms and concept vehicle displays including the EN-V and Miray.

The re-imagined Test Track Presented by Chevrolet will open on 6 December. For more information, visit the website.
