Ferrari F150 confirmed for Geneva. Well, there’s a surprise.

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Ferrari’s new ‘limited edition special series car’ – the Ferrari F150 / New Enzo – has been confirmed for a reveal at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

You may be astonished to learn that Ferrari hasn’t officially confirmed that the replacement for the Enzo – codenamed Ferrari F150 – will actually debut at the Geneva Motor Show But it hasn’t.

Well, it hasn’t if you’re simply a Ferrari lover. Although if you’re a Ferrari favourite, and especially one of those favoured few who have no doubt already snapped up the 499 Ferrari F150s being built, you’ve know for some time.

But now it’s official for the proletariat and Ferrari has pulled out all the stops to treat you to the wonderful tease image for their new hypercar you see above.

What we’re pretty sure of – as we were that the F150 would be unveiled at Geneva – is that it will come with something in the region of 950bhp, have an electric motor in addition to a tweaked version of the V12 in the F12 Berlinetta, cost in the region of €1-1.1 million, the first customer cars will arrive in October – and all are probably already spoken for.

What it does mean is that Geneva will see the biggest hypercar head-to-head reveal – perhaps ever – with not just the new Ferrari on offer but its potential nemesis too – the new McLaren P1.

That means two hypercars with price tags in the region of £1 million – and power approaching 1000bhp – being revealed to the world at the same time. Which will take the trophy as the ‘Star’ car of Geneva 2013?

We’ll find out next week when both the Ferrari and McLaren are finally revealed –  at least to those who can never afford one.
