Ferrari F620 arriving at Geneva?

Mon, 06 Feb 2012

Is this how the Ferrari 599's replacement will look?

Reports this weekend say that the replacement for the Ferrari 599 GTB – the Ferrari F620 – will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Back in November we published spy photos of the replacement for the Ferrari 599, out testing in Italy in a pile of padded camouflage, and suggested it would be the Ferrari F620 (or even the F600) when it arrived. Which we thought would be at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012.

Since then, we’ve not really heard anything new. We had suggested that the 599′s replacement would come with a 6.3 litre V12 delivering 700bhp driven to the back wheels through a seven-speed F1 dual clutch box. And it seems Auto Bild has confirmed that, and come up with the rendering of how the F620 will look.

That look bolts a Ferrari FF grill on the front of the 599′s long bonnet – without changing the shape of the 599 too much – and throws in LED lights. It’s unlikely Ferrari will endow the 599′s replacement with 4WD drive, although there is a chance we could see a hybrid setup on offer.

With Geneva just weeks away, we’re likely to be seeing more on the replacement for the Ferrari 599, whether it is the F620 as we expect (or F620 GT as Auto Bild call it) or even the Ferrari F600 or 600 GTB.
